If your unhappy with the colour of your teeth, then a whitening treatment may be the ideal solution for you. It is important to achieve oral health and a good level of dental care before you can undergo such a treatment.
If you have holes in your teeth (cavities) or any other issues, they will need to be treated prior to going down this cosmetic route to achieve your optimum shade of white.
Our friendly team will be more than happy to help you achieve dental health. It is recommended to attend the dentist for regular check ups and routine dental hygiene appointments, to help you look after your natural teeth for longer.
We are proud to offer some of the lowest denplan membership plans in England. This enables you to access private dentistry (with additional discounts off further treatments).
At our clinic we offer a variety of different treatments to meet our patients needs. Danni Mapstone is one of our dental therapists and offers tooth whitening within her mini-smile make over package. We have found the combination of cleaning the teeth with a home whitening kit to be highly effective. With Danni’s experience in the cosmetic field, she has created some truly fantastic results.
Why Would You Want Teeth Whitening?
The simplest answer to this question is that you want to achieve a white shade of tooth. A whitening system is often used to finish off orthodontic (teeth straightening) treatments, helping you to smile with confidence again.
Why Does Our Teeth Discolour?
You may not know this but teeth are not a naturally white colour. They are more an off white, and the exact shade will vary from person to person.
Lifestyle factors also play an active role in the whiteness of our teeth. Red wine and other dark substances such as coffee/tea, will discolour our teeth over time.
If you have experienced discolouration and excessive staining, we may recommend airflow treatment prior to teeth whitening. The best way to explain this is like a jet car wash but for your teeth and gums.
How Does Teeth Whitening Work?
Our home whitening kit consists of custom made trays and whitening gel. The trays are made specially for your mouth and will fit comfortably around your teeth.
The whitening gel will be applied by yourself into the small recesses of the tray. As you wear the trays (for the recommend time by your clinician) the gel and teeth will meet (which in turn activates the gel). Over the course of a 2 week initial period, you will repeat this process every day.
Your treating clinician will see you for a review to do a shade check on your new tooth colour.
Please note: after the initial whitening treatment you can top up the whitening effect by wearing trays with the whitening gel.
