Dermal Fillers

Reducing The Appearance of Lines & Wrinkles

Wrinkles and facial lines result from aging, muscle activity and any genetic predisposition. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural sugar that is naturally present within your skin, however with age, as the levels of HA reduces, and the skin dries out, wrinkles form as the skin becomes more fragile.

When injected, a Dermal Filler will essentially counteract this HA reduction, allowing the skin to be filled out, reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Due to the nature of Dermal Fillers, they can also be used to boost the definition of lips, the mouth and cheeks.

Bellissima Facial Aesthetics can offer professional consultations and treatment to reduce the appearance of minor to moderate facial lines and wrinkles. If you are interested in booking a consultation with Dr C V Elliott BDS, please contact us today.

Treatment Procedure

An initial consultation and examination is required, as there is a wide range of Dermal Filler products available, these can be tailored to suit your needs, and any allergies you may have.

The injections can be administered at the first meeting once one has been selected, and 20-30 minutes before this, anaesthetic cream will be applied in order that the patient will only suffer a mild temporary discomfort during the procedure. In most cases the recovery time will be approximately 30 minutes, after which any red marks or bruising would normally fade, however this can vary from person to person and is also dependant on the Dermal Filler used.

Length of Procedure

For the initial visit, discussion, examination and treatment, normally somewhere between 30-45 minutes. The treatment itself is completed within 10-30 minutes depending on the areas of treatment.

Post-treatment Appearance

The overwhelming majority of patients walk out of the treatment room with just a few small red dots at the areas that have been injected. These typically take 15-30 minutes to fade – after that there is no sign to tell anyone that you have had an injection.

Side Effects
