What Is a Sports Massage?
Sports massage is a form of massage involving the manipulation of soft tissue to benefit a person engaged in regular physical activity. Soft tissue is made of muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and skin.
When we exercise and participate in sport on a regular basis the soft tissue can be overworked and as a result feel sore and stiff. Sports massages are designed to help break this tension and this can reduce the chances of suffering an injury (preventative), enhance sporting performance, and also aid recovery.
