Dental Implants
Replace Missing Teeth Securely
How Can We Help You?
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are used to permanently replace missing teeth and they are considered the closest thing to a natural tooth. They comprise of two main parts, the implant, which anchors in your new tooth/teeth (similar to a root of the tooth) and the restoration on top (e.g. crown, bridge, denture etc).
Why Would You Want Dental Implants?
If you have lost a tooth due to natural causes or in an accident, implants are a secure way to restore your smile:
- Missing teeth
- Replace decayed teeth that need to be removed (extracted)

I graduated from Birmingham Dental School in 1993 and have since worked in general practice and at Selly Oak Hospital as an orthodontic assistant. I have a special interest in implantology and in 2004 I undertook a comprehensive programme with the Oxford Society of Oral Implantology directed by Professor Manuel Chanavaz.
I have continued my interest in orthodontics and have attended many seminars run by the inspiring lecturer, Skipp Truitt, through which I have gained greater experience in the fields of functional orthopaedics and the management of TMJ disorders.
I became the new owner of West Heath Dental Practice with my wife Mirabel in 2008 and I feel that I bring enthusiasm and the key skills essential to progressive and modern dentistry.
When I am not at work I enjoy the challenge of a triathlon or an off road run but to really relax, once my three children have finally gone to sleep, there is nothing quite like working your way through a current DVD box set.
