Reducing The Appearance Of Skin Imperfections
Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), which is also known as both a Dermal Roller or as Skin Needling, is one of the newest and most popular cosmetic treatments, giving amazing results on all skin types. It reduces the appearance of skin imperfections and blemishes, including sun damage, pigmentation, scarring and skin laxity.
Bellissima Facial Aesthetics can offer professional consultations and treatments to reduce the appearance of such facial skin imperfections. If you are interested in booking a consultation with Dr C V Elliott BDS, please do not hesitate to contact us today.
Treatment Procedure
After an initial consultation and examination, any makeup present should be removed, and an anaesthetic cream will be applied to the treatment area for between 20-30 minutes prior to treatment, in order that the patient will only suffer a mild temporary discomfort during the procedure. Once the anaesthetic has set in, the Dermal Roller is moved over the treatment area; the Dermal Roller uses micro-needles around its circumference, which create evenly-spaced puncture wounds on the skin. The purpose of this is to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production by creating superficial micro-wounds on to the skin, which rapidly heal, however not before the body’s natural healing process has been stimulated.
Length of Procedure
For the initial visit, discussion, examination and treatment, approximately 60 minutes. The treatment times vary between 10-60 minutes depending on the area of skin you are having treated.
Post-Treatment Appearance
The majority of patients will leave the treatment with what appears to be mild sun-burn, with the skin being slightly pink around the treatment area, however this normally subsides within a matter of hours, and the overwhelming majority of patients are recovered on the same day. Occasionally slight and temporary bruising may form around the treatment area.
How Much Does Skin Needling Cost?
The cost will vary depending on the area of skin you are having treated, and the number of treatments that you require, however prices range from £249.00.
