What Is Invisalign?

Invisalign is the modern way to discreetly straighten your teeth without the use of fixed wires or brackets.

Invisalign consists of a series of clear & removable aligners that will gradually straighten and correct your teeth over the course of your treatment.

Why Choose Invisalign?

If your unhappy with the straightness/look of your teeth, then Invisalign may be the ideal treatment for you. The main difference to traditional braces is the fact that you can easily remove these clear aligners yourself, which means you will be able to eat and drink as normal throughout treatment.

One of the benefits to this (and not talked about as much) is the fact that you will be able to brush and floss your teeth as normal – where as with fixed braces it will be harder to reach certain areas of your mouth (which is why a visit to the hygienist is recommended throughout for fixed braces). Dr Andrew Murphy offers both fixed and removable types of braces and will be able to look at which system would best be suited for your needs.

How Does Invisalign Work?

At the start of the treatment your case will have already been planned from the impressions (moulds) of your teeth. Using Invisalign’s technology, they will simulate the end results for you, and this will determine how many movements/aligners are required to get you there (more complex cases will take longer and require more aligners).

Each aligner will be roughly worn for two weeks before you move onto the next one. Dr Andrew Murphy will advise you on this at your appointments. At each progress check with Andrew (every 6 weeks), you will be given the next series of aligners for you to continue to wear.

This process will be repeated until your teeth has reached their final resting position (straight) and you will be given a retainer to be worn, which helps your teeth from relapsing.
